The brethren of Woolton Lodge No 6448 had a fantastic weekend of Masonic fellowship at the Masonic Hall, Hope Street, Liverpool. The lodge was honoured to have the company of brethren from Lodge Alexandra No 1282 from Dennistoun, Glasgow. (Dennistoun, according to the internet, is a neighbourhood northeast of Glasgow and if pronouncing correctly, is deh -nuh -stun.)

Woolton Lodge also had the pleasure of the company of Liverpool Group Chairman, David Johnson and group vice-chairman Bob Paterson.
After the opening and calling off of Woolton Lodge, the brethren of Lodge Alexandra, under the direction of Jimmy Morrison, demonstrated the opening of a lodge, the entered apprentice degree and the closing of a lodge as per the Scottish working.
Jimmy, as the WM, also explained the northeast corner and the charge. Jimmy was ably assisted by other brethren of the degree team from Lodge Alexandra: Past master Joe Robinson, junior warden Stewart Strachan, senior deacon Nelson Morrison, junior deacon David O’Neil, inner guard Andy Burns, receiving officer Andy Honest, Nelson Morrison delivered the apron and prayers, Ian Morrison the working tools, signs and secrets and Brain McLellan the mode manner.
Woolton Lodge was called on again and congratulations were given to Lodge Alexandra for their labours. At the conclusion of the meeting, the brethren retired to the festive board to further cement their friendships.
The WM was presented with a special bottle of whisky, produced to mark Lodge Alexandra’s centenary, bottle 2013, commemorating the year Robert GC Sawers and Andy Honest served together as RWM, Robert in Lodge Maryhill, Glasgow No 510 and Andy in Lodge Alexandra. It was a very emotional moment shared by two old friends.
The brethren parted company in great spirits, with some retiring to a local hostelry to further cement their friendships, both old and new. Robert Sawers, as master of Woolton Lodge, thanked everyone for a wonderful evening.
