Old Worden Chapter No 5366 held its installation ceremony at Leyland Masonic Hall with a good number of companions in attendance witnessing a very relaxed and most enjoyable ceremony.
Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Barry Jameson was on this occasion representing the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and the chapter principals welcomed him into the chapter. Barry was accompanied by Stewart Seddon, Chairman of Leyland and District Group and Chris Blackwell, vice chairman and Royal Arch lead for the group. Mike Casey Provincial Grand Standard Bearer was also in attendance.
The three principals were installed in a very sincere and happy manner with excellent renditions of the ceremony by the officers of the chapter. The third principal, Graham Runacus was installed by Tom Ryding. Tom then became the second principal and James Wynn first principal, both being installed by Andrew Newsome the outgoing first principal.
Each of the robe addresses were presented by Ian Heyes, Neil Ward and Alan Scarrott to the three principals respectively.
Once the principals had been installed into their respective chairs, Barry Jameson congratulated everyone on behalf of the Grand Superintendent for having taken part in the ceremony. Andrew Newsome in particular was congratulated for having had a successful year as first principal and for installing two of the principals on the evening with excellent ritual which was second to none.
James then presented Barry with a cheque for £200 made out to Teddies for Loving Care; an appeal raising funds for the supply of cuddly toys to accident and emergency units for children in severe distress.
Following the meeting there were 22 visitors and members of Old Worden Chapter retiring to the dining room where an excellent festive board was provided and served by the Wellington Park staff.
