Tyldesley Lodge No 2572 at their regular meeting raised John Harrison to the sublime degree of a master Mason; however, the first item was a terribly sad announcement that lodge member Mike Silver had passed to the Grand Lodge above. Mike will be missed as his presence in the lodge was high and left a lot of the brethren heartbroken due to his untimely passing. The WM David Peacock was visibly emotionally upset whilst announcing it, after which all the brethren stood to give the sign of repose.

Tyldesley Lodge was also granted an audience by the newly appointed Assistant Provincial Grand Master Jonathan Heaton, who was accompanied by his personal guest Charles Lockett to assist and support him.
Andrew McVee then conducted John into the lodge, where he went through his questions with ease, as you can expect from a member of Tyldesley Lodge. Andrew then had all the confidence in conducting John around the lodge, so much so as he knows his ritual like the back of his hand.
Downstairs at the festive board was a most enjoyable evening. Where a raffle took place, which raised £175. The meal was four courses supplied by Brookfield Hall and was of a high standard as always. John gave his toast to say thank you to all those who had helped him in his Masonic career so far, and it won’t be long before he is seated in the chair of King Solomon conducting a third degree ceremony himself.
