What a fantastic day it was for the annual George Wood Trophy Competition which was held at St Helens Masonic Hall. The atmosphere was electric as teams from various lodges in the Mersey Valley Group competed in the games.

The day was filled with laughter, cheers and good sportsmanship, and it was great to see everyone having such a good time. With the games starting and all the teams giving there all. even the officers of the Mersey Valley Group formed their own team consisting of group chairman John Murphy, deputy chairman David Atkinson, vice chairman John Gibbon, and they enlisted AProvGM Andy Whittle to join them, but unfortunately, they did not win.
The team from Lodge of Hospitality No 5074, who meet at St Helens Masonic Hall, swept the board and emerged as overall winners taking home the George Wood Trophy. A huge thanks to Mark Denton for organising the event and to Tony Ackroyd, the hall catering manager, for refreshments on the day.
Everyone now cannot wait for next year’s event, which will be even bigger and better with continued support from everyone.
