Preston Masonic Hall was delighted to host the Preston & District Scouts Chief Scout Silver Award Presentation evening. Around 40 youngsters had earned the award and proud family members joined together to watch them enjoy the reward for their efforts.

Even more of an honour for Preston Masonic Hall was that the scouts had invited the master of Preston Guild Lodge No 4408, David Parker Jnr, to make the presentations to these amazing children. Preston Guild Lodge had supported one of the local groups last year and their leader thought it a nice idea to invite David to take part.
The Chief Scout’s Silver Award is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. To achieve it, cubs need to complete six activity or staged activity badges, along with all seven challenge awards. The award signifies a significant accomplishment in the cub’s scouting journey.
Freemasons and scouts have a lot in common and this is reflected in the work of the Kindred Lodges Association which promotes close working between Masons and the scouts. To learn more about the Kindred Lodges Association, click here.
