Ormskirk Masonic Hall tops Tripadvisor

Ormskirk Masonic Hall caterers Gary and Angela O’Brien and their staff come with a highly respected reputation for excellent food and service. Local Freemasons have known this for some time, so it comes as no surprise that Gary and Angela have been presented with a certificate of excellence from the well-known reviewing website Tripadvisor.

Reviews received from the general public who have visited O’Brien’s Tea Rooms at the hall have placed them at the head of the competition as number one out of 103 eateries in Ormskirk and the surrounding district.

This has now become a popular venue in the town for private parties, christenings, weddings and other family celebrations. During the day the tea rooms attract a wide range of age groups. The restaurants open aspect and easy access gives plenty of room for young families with toddlers, those looking for a nostalgic traditional afternoon tea a delicious lunch or snack, or just a refreshing ice cream, all of which are served with a warm and friendly welcome.

Apart from serving the regular fayre Angela also creates the most fantastic hand crafted celebration cakes for birthdays, christenings and a stunning range of wedding cakes which compliments every style from boldly modern and delicately romantic to timelessly traditional.

Recently 25 members of the Ormskirk Ladies Group enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea as part of their summer programme. They enjoyed a selection of sandwiches followed by scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam accompanied by tea and coffee. Diane Hampson chairperson expressed her thanks to Gary and his staff for what was an excellent afternoon and said they would definitely be back. The popularity of the venue is helping to bring in much needed revenue towards the upkeep of the hall. The Ormskirk Masonic Hall Association committee are anxious to continue to improve the facilities for the members and visitors. Work will shortly be undertaken to redecorate several areas within the building, and these will be completed before the start of the new Masonic season.
