Nine went to the seaside

When Frank Pearson, who is a member of Chorley Lodge No 6287, said that he was also a member of West Lancashire Century Lodge No 2349 and that they were celebrating their 125th anniversary there was immediate interest.

Frank asked who would like to go to Cleveleys to be part of the celebration and eight brothers quickly assembled; David Martiz, Norman Chandler, Russ Garner, Rey Morris, Andrew Mason, Eric Kos, WM Chris Peters and John Breakwell.

Cleveleys Masonic Hall is a lovely place with two lodge rooms upstairs and an excellent dining and bar area downstairs, a really nice place with a very warm welcome.

The celebration was led by the WM Roy Morden. A perfect oration was delivered by Rev Stephen Leach who has recently retired from a post in Cornwall. Stephen blessed a new set of collars and aprons for the master and wardens. Glen Jackson the secretary of the lodge then narrated a very interesting history of the lodge.

Roy then presented every member of the lodge with a pair of white gloves.

Then to the festive board: melon and Parma ham, lemon sole, pork fillet, white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, a coffee and truffle chocolate with wines and port; and it was delicious.

A great day out with good friends – wish we had seen the sea!
