A lively fun-filled night was had by all at the Lever Park Lodge No 8144 Christmas meeting. As tradition dictated it was the past masters meeting.
There was a solemn start to the meeting as a eulogy for Richard Parkinson, an honorary member of the lodge, who had passed away in November, was read by Brian Goth

Following a moment of silent reflection, the relevant positions were filled with past masters and lodge business was conducted in an exemplary manner, culminating in the lodge being closed with a demonstration of the ‘Lesser Lights.’
The members retired to the festive board where they were joined by their wives and partners for an evening of Christmas festivities. The master, Geoff Gorner, welcomed the packed Ridgmont House dining room and the evening’s feast got underway.
The highlight of the evening was the appearance of the Rivington and Adlington Brass Band who entertained the gathering with a number of Christmas melodies before the conductor encouraged the gathering to join in with some festive carols. This was accepted with gusto and the hall rang out with the chorus of loud voices. This culminated with the Lever Park Lodge legendary rendition of the ‘12 days of Christmas’ led by Peter Hannis.

As the evening ended, the members, partners and guests left with a smile on their faces having enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal and entertainment. Until next year!!
