Brethren of Neptune Lodge No 1264 took the opportunity to embrace its nautical roots, when the WM Ian McIntosh, ever one to do something different for the lodge, organised a Sunday cruise aboard The Floating Grace.

The Floating Grace is a floating restaurant and bar boat, taking in the sights of the historic Albert Dock. The dock was opened in 1846 and played a key part in Liverpool’s maritime history. The brethren, their families, fellow friends and guests, enjoyed a splendid two-hour cruise including some expert commentary regarding the boat and the dock area.
After a great traditional Sunday roast had been enjoyed, including one or two beers having been quaffed, the lodge members, family and friends, returned to the quayside well sated, fully relaxed and grateful for the good weather.
On returning alongside the dock, Ian was warmly given three cheers from everyone for organising the event and the lodge brethren seemed eager to repeat the trip soon.
The vessel is moored right in front of the Albert Dock and runs cruises from Wednesday to Sunday, throughout the dock system, the lodge brethren found it provided excellent food and drink at very reasonable prices.
As a member of the Armed forces covenant, The Floating Grace also gives a favourable discount for armed forces personnel and veterans on production of proof of service. For more information about Liverpool’s only floating restaurant and bar boat, The Floating Grace, click here.
