Mark was accompanied by grand officer and Bootle Group Chairman Ian Gee and Brian Cunliffe.

The lodge was opened and all present were given a warm welcome hoping that all would enjoy the evening. Ian Thomas, master elect was presented to installing master, Graham Ashmore by Derek Finney.
After an interesting and excellent ceremony Ian was installed into the chair of King Solomon in front of 18 members and two guests.

Ian, was delighted to be able to present to Mark a number of cheques for significant amounts explaining that the lodge had already made a non-Masonic donation to the Haig Poppy Appeal. The Masonic charities who benefitted were Tithebarn, West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and Litherland Masonic hall. Mark was very happy to accept the cheques stating that they will be faithfully applied and that many would benefit from our donations.

After the ceremony Mark made special mention of the DC and Installing Master Graham. He spoke of how Graham had carried out his work with care and dignity and was able to involve many members in the ceremony which Mark thought went very well indeed.

This is the first time for Ian to be installed into the chair of King Solomon in Fermor Hesketh lodge, he has however, been a WM in Lodge Seaforth No 4038. He became a member of Fermor Hesketh Lodge after Seaforth Lodge No 4038 had returned its warrant in June 2006. Ian has a pleasant and steady style of working and expressed his delight in becoming the WM of his new lodge. He promises plenty of work for our enjoyment and involvement and looks forward to meeting many of his contemporaries during his year in office.

One other happy event during the evening was that the lodge members welcomed two joining members. Both new members have joined from Fermor Hesketh’s mother lodge, the Lodge of Sincerity No 292 which returned its warrant in June 2015. The joining members were Derek Challinor and Ian John Edwards. The new members were given a very warm welcome by the members to the lodge.
