Ladies of Valour aid the Alzheimer’s Society

Members of the Lodge of Valour No 4322 Ladies Section, from the Leigh Group, headed by Mrs Audrey Hilton and Mrs Joyce Speakman, were delighted to present a cheque for £100 to Pauline Blackie, principle coordinator from the Dementia Café, the Leigh and Wigan branch of the Alzheimer’s Society united against Dementia, during one of the open days. Pauline ensures that there is something going on almost every day and provides information and support not only to dementia sufferers but also to their carers.

Attending the open day were children from the nursery next door who brightened up everyone’s morning by singing nursery rhymes and songs, as they celebrated the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle, ensuring everyone had a lively and thoroughly enjoyable time.
