Companions of Chapter of Concord No 343 welcomed a new exaltee into the chapter in a fine ceremony led by first principal Robert Hampson. To prove that it is never too late to become a companion in the Royal Arch, John Forshaw is 75.
John is a member of De Bon Cuer Lodge No 6984 and even at the age of 75, he enjoyed every minute of it. The Deputy Grand Superintendent Chris Butterfield and Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Paul Hesketh, were on hand to witness John’s exaltation.
Frank Cook gave a splendid demonstration of the signs which added to John’s ongoing bemusement. Preston Group’s Royal Arch Lead, David Parker, presented John with the welcoming booklet aimed at helping new exaltees understand this Masonic Order, which John was relieved to receive.
At the same time, Chapter of Concord also welcomed John Farnden as a joining member. John is currently the master of Preston Lodge of Sincerity No 8085 as well as a member of the Blackpool Chapter of Integrity No 5864. John Farnden was immediately put to work as a sojourner for the exaltation of John Forshaw. Two John Fs in one night!
Following the completion of the ceremony, the companions then retired to a very convivial and enjoyable festive board were Chris Butterfield welcomed John and John into the chapter and wished them many enjoyable years in this wonderful Masonic Order.
