Garston Masonic Hall was the venue for the installation of David Atkinson at Allegiance Lodge No 7352 and the lodge was opened by the WM Ken Dobie. After opening, Ken requested that Stewart Dobie remain as junior warden and Graham Brunskill remain as senior warden for the installation ceremony.
Ken then opened the lodge in the third degree and the director of ceremonies David Atkinson introduced the principal guest for the evening, Assistant Provincial Grand Master Andrew Whittle, who was accompanied by the Woolton and Garston Group Chairman John Murphy and other distinguished guests.
After being presented to the lodge, the master elect David Atkinson was then installed by Ken who, during the ceremony, presented the working tools in all three degrees. Peter Roberts performed the address to the WM and Barry Tomlinson the address to the wardens.
To complete the installation ceremony, Andrew Whittle delivered the address to the brethren of the lodge and congratulated Ken on the quality of the ceremony and David on his being installed in the chair of King Solomon. In response, newly-installed David presented Andrew with two cheques, one for £200 to Broadgreen Heart Hospital and the other for £100 to Garston Masonic Hall.
Prior to sitting down for an excellent four-course meal at the festive board, Andy toasted the health of the WM and congratulated Ken on the way he had carried out the ceremony. Having taken their fill of good food, good wine and hearty companionship, an excellent evening was concluded by Gwilyn Jones delivering the master’s song to the WM.
