The lodge was opened by the WM Edward Carr who gave a warm welcome to Frank. Following the completion of the lodge initial business Bootle Group Chairman Ian Gee was presented as master elect by Joe Cox. Ian was then installed into the chair of King Solomon by Edward in the usual exemplary manner St Luke’s Lodge is accustomed to. The working tools of the three degrees were excellently presented and explained by Edward Carr.

Ian is no stranger to the WM’s chair having served for the first time in 1989, and one of his first duties was to appoint his officers for the ensuing year.

On the conclusion of the ceremony Frank conveyed the best wishes of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison; he also thanked Edward for the wonderful work he had carried out during the ceremony and for the never ending work of DC Simon Gray.

Ian then had the pleasant duty of presenting charity disbursement cheques to Frank on behalf of the members of the lodge. A total of £510 being donated to West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and £400 donated to Litherland Masonic Hall.  Frank thanked Ian and the lodge members for their kind presentation on behalf of those recipients who will benefit from their generosity.

The festive board was of its usual high standard and a merry time was had by all the 48 brethren present. During the evening Ian presented Frank with a bouquet of flowers for his wife Cathy on behalf of the members of the lodge. Ian later thanked everyone for attending his installation and wished them a safe journey home.
