Paul was accompanied by several grand and Provincial grand chapter officers including Stuart Thornber, Ken Shaw, Chris Hamilton, Roger Perry, John Robson, David Randerson and Paul Hesketh, as well as Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Tony Hall and chairman of the Chorley and District group Peter Lockett, vice chairman Peter Allen and acting Provincial officers Rey Morris, Richard Frazer-Bastable and Steve Holcroft.

The numerous companions in attendance all witnessed an excellent ceremony which was well managed by David Harrison in his final ceremony as director of ceremonies of this very prestigious chapter.

The scripture readings and prayers were faultlessly delivered by Peter Rees, Gary Smith, David Worth, Allan Shields, Steve Howorth and Derek Robinson, with the robe addresses by David Worth, Gary Longthorne and Roger Sherlock.

Paul Renton took the opportunity to thank and congratulate David Harrison for his long and dedicated service to Horwich Chapter in various offices which stretched for a period of no less than seventeen years!

The companions retired to the festive board for an excellent meal with good wine and most of all exceedingly good company.
