The Foxton Centre in Preston provides an invaluable service to the homeless and vulnerable young people in Preston. Often, many of the people they help fall through the gaps in the traditional services. The Foxton Centre offers a non-judgemental approach to each individual.
Their aim is to help everyone they work with into accommodation. This is a true lifeline for many at the lowest ebb of their lives. They work with rough sleepers who find themselves at the margins of society and often experiencing issues of addiction, poverty and mental health. They also work with young people in the centre and south of the city organising weekly youth clubs and holiday time activities.
One of the most valuable services is the provision of nutritious hot meals for those living on the streets or with no means of cooking a meal themselves. This is an essential service for those in most need. The centre also provided a Christmas Dinner, served by volunteers, to the homeless.
