Garston Masonic Hall was the venue for the fundraising event for Clatterbridge Breast Cancer Care Charity arranged by Mal Yates the Hall Chairman, Carl Krueger Hall Director and in association with Paula Johnson from Sparkles Boutique.

The afternoon commenced with a short talk by given by Meg Owen from the Clatterbridge Breast Cancer Charity. This was followed by a fashion show, with all the models taking part being recovering breast cancer patients. The 96 guests then enjoyed by a two-course meal provided by Tony Ackroyd and his hard-working catering staff including Kerry and Lauren.
Mike Powell provided the entertainment; he is a former winner of ‘Stars in their Eyes’. who has developed into one of the leading vocalists paying tribute to some of the finest vocal talents including Michael Bublé and Dean Martin. There were also raffles taking place during the interval, then followed by a second singing and dancing spot.

Everyone in attendance at the fashion show agreed that the afternoon was a resounding success and was very much enjoyed by all. It is very much the wish of the Provincial Grand Master Mark Matthews that Masonic halls are seen to be far more open to the public than they have been in the past and to be of the use of the local community.
During the afternoon, Mal had spoken to a few people at the event who had lived in Garston all their lives and didn’t know of the existence of Garston Masonic Hall. They were amazed at the facilities and complimentary about the lounge and function room. Mal has now had enquiries from several organisations about using the facilities which could lead to extra income.

It is the intention of Garston Masonic Hall to be more visible to the local community and support local charities. A wonderful sum of £2,500 was raised and presented to Antony Jones for the Clatterbridge Breast Cancer Charity.
