Members of Flixton Lodge No 4869 are united in their belief that all children deserve the resources needed to enrich their mind, encourage their success and instil in them a lifetime love of reading.

The brethren of lodge therefore came up with the idea of a book bank to gift local children from families who are struggling with the cost of living, free books for both educational and leisure reading.
Books available in the book bank were generously donated to Flixton Lodge by individuals and several local bookshops, where new donations can come in at any time. The books are then taken directly to local schools in the Stockport and Urmston areas by Wayne Devlin and other members of Flixton Lodge, where staff then pass on the books to those children who will benefit from them.
While food banks may put food in the stomachs of families during the cost-of-living crisis, Flixton Lodge hope that their book bank will feed the minds of our local children and young people.
