Mark Davis was installed as master of Prince of Architects Lodge No 4188 for the first time in the presence of Assistant Provincial Grand Master Malcom Bell. Malcolm was accompanied by the lodges very own Assistant Provincial Grand Master Frank Umbers, the Chairman of Ormskirk and Bootle Group Graham Chambers and acting Provincial Grand Charity Steward Paul Shirley and acting Provincial grand stewards David Paton and Robert Midgley.
The lodge was opened by the master Barry Jones, who conducted the installation ceremony ably assisted by officers of the lodge. The master elect Mark Davis was then presented by Dale Roberts to the master. The installing officers were, senior warden Stephen McCracken, junior warden Stuart Irvine and inner guard Richard McHale.
The third degree working tools were presented by Daniel Hill, the second working degree tools were presented by Jeff Grundy and the first degree tools were presented by Dale Lord. The addresses to the master and senior warden were given by Paul Shirley, the address to the wardens was given by Morgan Denyer, the addresses to the junior deacon, the inner guard and tyler were given by Stephen McCracken. The address to the stewards was given by David Paton.
Mark was then presented with the Hallstone jewel by Dale Roberts, with the address to the brethren of the lodge by Malcolm Bell, who was then presented with a list of donations that the lodge had made to various Masonic and non-Masonic charities to the value of £1,600. Malcolm thanked the brethren of the lodge for their generous donations and made a special comment to the brethren who delivered the working tools.
All the brethren then retired to the dining room for a festive board of pate and granary toast, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, panna cotta with peach and raspberry coulis and a cheese board. After a rousing rendition of the Master’s Song, a raffle was held which raised the magnificent sum of £250, in addition to the £250 from the evening’s alms plate.
