Ormskirk Priory Lodge No 4007 held a very successful Sunday lunch at Ormskirk Masonic Hall. 69 guests attended including lodge members, their families and friends, all enjoying lip smacking cuisine prepared by Gary O’Brien, and his staff. The catering at the Masonic Hall has received great reviews especially from the general public rating it highly amongst all the local restaurants.
Bert Patterson, DC of the lodge, welcomed one and all on behalf of the WM John Rawcliffe, who due to family commitments was unable to attend, wishing everyone an enjoyable afternoon.
The guests had pre-booked their menu choices from a wide selection, including starters of chicken liver pate, leek and potato soup, garlic mushrooms; main course of loin of pork, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding or pan fried salmon in hollandaise sauce all followed by a mouth-watering choice of lemon meringue pie, chocolate choux buns or sticky toffee pudding; also available was a tempting choice on the children’s menu.
Ray Hampson, lodge charity steward, once again organised the event with his usual skilful proficiency. A bumper raffle was held, with all the prizes being donated, which raised the grand sum of £215 for the lodge charity fund.
Much hilarity was in evidence when a number of participants received a stalk of sprouts as a result of their winning ticket. Ray completed the afternoon by thanking everyone for coming and supporting what had been a most successful event.
