Companions and friends witnessed the installation of David Hill as first principal at the meeting of Egerton Chapter No 2216 held at Elm Bank Masonic Hall.
The principal guest was Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Chris Butterfield PGStdB who was accompanied by grand officer Dave Walmsley PGStdB, Jim Hardman PrGStwd and Eccles Group Vice Chairman Patrick Walsh.
On arrival, Chris was greeted by Patrick Walsh who presented him with a bag of the traditional Eccles cakes to which Chris gratefully received and looked forward to consuming them.
David Hill was installed as first principal, Paul Newton as second principal and Brian Robinson as third principal in a fine ceremony.
The scarlet robe address was given by Dave Walmsley, the purple robe address by David Price and the blue robe address by David Hamilton Hall.
The address to the principals was delivered in an exemplary manner by David Price, the address to the officers by Colin Smith and the address to the companions of the chapter by the principal guest Chris Butterfield.
At the conclusion of the installation ceremony, Chris brought the congratulations of the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison, wishing the three principals well during their coming year in office. Chris congratulated all the companions of the chapter who had taken part in the installation ceremony.
At the festive board in response to the toast to the grand officers, Chris gave his own congratulations and good wishes to the three principals and to the companions of the chapter and wished them well in the year ahead.
Chris conveyed the message of the Grand Superintendent to enjoy our Royal Arch Masonry and to encourage the companions to spread the word to the younger brethren.
He thanked the supporting officers for their company and conclude saying that he had thoroughly enjoyed the evening at Egerton chapter.
