Yet another great day was enjoyed by all the competitors at the 2015 Chorley Group Golf Day where the Bolton Golf Club was once again the host venue with its challenging course and superb views.

There was a good mix of old and new members taking part, with Arthur Price and David Hatchard both making their first appearances at the event.

All the fun started on the first tee with much anticipation about who could win the Oswald Trophy, (for the shortest drive off the first tee). Mike Silver and Ian Banks both made splendid attempts to take the trophy from the eventual and well-deserved winner Tony Fletcher.

The best guest score was posted by Greame Hunt, who enjoyed the best of the weather and scored a very creditable 29 points for his round. The longest drive was also won be by Greame Hunt and nearest the pin was won by Tony Fletcher.

First timer at the event David Hatchard was the eventual winner of the event; he posted an excellent score of 35 points for his round, with Tony Fletcher coming in second place on a round of 30 points.

Following on from the golf, a superb meal was then enjoyed in the club house where the competitors reminisced about the events of the day and those that got away.

The next outing will be in the autumn when the group golf day will take place on Tuesday 18 August at Hindley Hall, where all members of the Chorley Group are welcome to attend.
