During the current coronavirus crisis the members of Standish Lodge No 4955 and Rufford Lodge No 7217 meeting at Park Hall Hotel, Charnock Richard, have rallied round the local hospitals to support health staff at the front line of the fight against the terrible disease.
Brethren from Standish Lodge have donated £400 worth of vital supplies to four of their local hospitals; Chorley, Wrightington, Ormskirk and Southport Hospitals to benefit the nursing staff directly. The donated supplies included fruit, drinks and personal hygiene items. These were delivered by members John Thompson along with his wife Elaine and Terry Worthington with the help of his wife Anne. All four hospitals expressed their thanks and said that they were extremely grateful.
Rufford Lodge brethren have recently made donations of £750 to the coronavirus emergency staff wellbeing funds at the following hospitals; Preston and Chorley, Southport and Ormskirk, also to the Well Child Fund at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The staff at these hospitals said that they were thankful to the brethren of Rufford Lodge and all the funds will be put to good use by the staff of each of these hospitals in helping to manage the situation during these difficult times.
