Following an evening’s entertainment during a canal boat cruise along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal from Botany Bay Chorley, brethren of Blainscough Lodge No 8532 were able to donate £350 to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Brethren of Blainscough Lodge, along with their friends and families enjoyed an evening of onboard music, food and drink, during a voyage through the picturesque countryside that the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in and around the Chorley area has to offer.
During the evening canal trip a raffle was held with some fantastic prizes on offer, which raised the grand sum of £350 and which would be donated to Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals. The hospital treats everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions.
A few days after the canal trip, Stephen and Elaine Corner visited Alder Hey to hand over a cheque for the £350. Blainscough Lodge brethren would like to thank everyone who attended the successful canal trip and donated towards such a good cause.
