A fascinating and educative explanation of the second degree fellow craft ritual was enjoyed by a wide range of Fylde coast brethren from all of the Fylde groups at the Masonic hall at the Park Suite in Cleveleys. This was the third scheduled presentation during the summer recess at the North Fylde Group venue.

After a warm welcome by the Fylde Light Blues Chairman Ian Fell, who proceeded to welcome everyone in the lodge room and especially to presenter Stewart Cranage, the brethren attending introduced themselves to each other.
Stewart Cranage took to the floor and with a variety of visual aids gave a fascinating insight into the ritual and spiritual journey within the second degree ritual. With an immense knowledge of historical Masonry across many countries, Stewart explained the lodge layout in the second degree, the ornaments and tools, as well as a thorough and detailed appreciation of all aspects of the second degree tracing board.
Stewart invited the audience to ask any questions, to which numerous brethren responded with thoughtful and inquisitive contributions. After the presentation, Ian Fell formally thanked Stewart Cranage for coming back to Cleveleys and delivering such an interesting and well-presented lecture for the Fylde light blues. Stewart received a resounding round of applause in appreciation.
Every brother in attendance, irrespective of their rank in Masonry, would have learnt something new from Stewart’s highly informative research into these facets of the second degree ritual. The talk was followed by a superb buffet supplied by Yes Chef Event Catering was enjoyed by all and was a most enjoyable way to complete a further evening of Masonic fellowship and learning.

The next Fylde light blues event will feature an explanation of the role of the director of ceremonies by Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies Ryan Modlin.
