Woolton Freemasons send sweet wishes to pensioners

Home > Latest news > Woolton Freemasons send sweet wishes to pensioners

The Masons that meet at Woolton Golf Club have for the last few years held a Christmas party for the local pensioners. The party used to take place within the golf club where a host of Masons helped the caterer to provide a party, along with a guest appearance from Father Christmas.

This year due to the COVID-19 virus however, the party could not be held. So instead, Mike Cunliffe, Vice Chairman of the Woolton Group arranged for a donation from each lodge that meets at Woolton Golf Club to purchase tins of sweets.

With the money that was donated, Mike managed to purchase over 60 tins of sweets and distributed them to the following: Woolton Life, St Hilda’s Church, St Columba’s Church, local residents who live near to the golf club and local hospices.

Bearing in mind social distancing, Mike collected the tins of sweets, loaded his car and set about distributing the goodies. The recipients were extremely pleased to receive the gifts.
