The Liverpool Group Chairman Mark Matthews had the undoubted pleasure of visiting one of the Masonic care homes, Tithebarn, which is in Crosby. Mark was attending in his position, not only as Chairman of the Liverpool Group, but also as Chairman of the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity (WLFC). On this occasion and accompanying Mark were Assistant Provincial Grand Master Derek Parkinson, who is also a director of the charity, and Steve Kayne Chief Executive Officer of the WLFC.
In presenting the cheque to Chairman of the Friends of Tithebarn John Stallard, Mark said: “I have great pleasure in presenting this cheque from the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity for £5,000 to the Friends of Tithebarn.” He further announced that awards for similar amounts will be made to the Home in 2020 and 2021. He went on to outline that Ecclesholme Care Home in Manchester would also receive similar grant awards. Also, as with Tithebarn, these would be for the next 3 years.
In response John thanked Mark, saying: “On behalf of the members of the Friends of Tithebarn and manager Linda Johnson, we would like to thank you for the generous donation the lodges and chapters have made. It will benefit the residents tremendously and greatly assist in supporting their future.”
