At the second special meeting since the end of lockdown, Preston Guild Lodge No 4408 was delighted to initiate and welcome Joey Sahota as a member of the lodge. Joey came to the lodge through the Provincial Membership Officer and via Preston Group. Members of the lodge have been keeping in touch with him while the lockdown was in force.
Joey had been waiting patiently for some considerable time to join due to the pandemic. The lodge arranged an emergency meeting by dispensation from the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison in order to bring Joey on board as quickly as possible and welcome him into Freemasonry.
Giving some details about himself, Joey said he works as an online marketing and video specialist at his business in Preston where he lives with his partner and young son. When asked about hobbies Joey explained that he is busy building his business up and looking after his family, so he doesn’t have a lot of time free, therefore hobbies are probably a luxury.
The ceremony was performed by the WM Tim Horton, ably assisted by David Parker Jnr, Joey’s proposer, who was acting as junior deacon. The charge after initiation was delivered with dignity and style by Richard James.
Joey is looking forward to learning more about his new friends, Freemasonry in general and above all about himself, as he progresses over time. Not to let the grass grow, Joey has agreed to deliver the first degree working tools at the installation meeting in November 2021.
