The Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison has been saying: “We are all membership officers” since he was invested as the PrGM for West Lancashire.
This may seem like a sound bite to brethren who have heard him say: “We are all membership officers”. However, Tony really means it and he has shown his intent by investing in a new, purpose built membership trailer that has cost the Province £10,000.
When Tony received delivery of the trailer he said: “I hope that members of lodges around the Province will think about how they can use the trailer, be it in their town center, village fete or village show etc. I do hope brethren along with the other members of their lodge will seriously consider how they can use the trailer as I do not want it to be left in storage in Skelmersdale!”
Tony continued by saying: “I would be delighted if the brethren applied for a dispensation to wear their regalia when they take the trailer to events where they can to talk to members of the public about Freemasonry – which I hope will encourage men who are not Masons to enquire about joining our wonderful organisation.”
Tony concluded by thanking the brethren involved in the design of the new trailer: Mike Ellis – who provided the graphic designs for the internal and external artwork and Mike Threlfall for managing the purchase of the trailer from Tow Master in Wigan.
The trailer is fitted with LED lighting, a 40 inch TV to show the animated ‘What is Freemasonry” and the UGLE ‘About Freemasonry’ videos. The trailer can be used by all brethren who have experience of towing caravans or box trailers, it weighs 850 kg and can be towed by most vehicles fitted with a tow bar.
