The WM of Princes Park Lodge No 4769 Andy Mooney accompanied by his wardens processed into the lodge. Some 50 members and visitors had gathered to be present at the event which was honoured by the presence of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison and his team. The lodge being duly formed, the WM opened in the second and third degrees.
Keith Kemp, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, announced that the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison was outside and demanded admission. Tony, accompanied by Kevin Poynton, Howard Jones, Sam Robinson, Haldane Eccles, Arthur Cregeen, David Hilliard, Andy Whittle, Mike Threlfall and Peter Schofield, together with acting Provincial grand officers, entered the lodge and was presented to the WM who extended to him a very warm welcome and offered him the gavel. Tony informed the WM that he had been looking forward to this visit and in order to enjoy it to the full he returned the gavel with alacrity!
Salutations to the various grand officers and Provincial grand officers took place, following which the WM requested the Provincial wardens, Mike Threlfall PrSGW and Peter Schofield PrJGW, to assist him by occupying their respective chairs. Andy then thanked all the brethren of Princess Park Lodge for their continue support during his year.
The lodge was adjourned from the third degree and resumed labour in the second. Geoff Cowan and Stan Bradley presented Vic Albin for installation. Vic took his obligation and the WM then adjourned to the third degree. According to ancient tradition Vic was duly installed into the chair of the lodge. The working tools were given by Graham Sinden in the third degree; John Rising in the second degree and Geoff Cowan in the first degree.
The Provincial wardens invested the lodge’s new wardens and Mike Threlfall gave the address to the wardens. The almoner was given his address by group chairman Andy Whittle. Tony Harrison gave the address to the brethren.
Andy Mooney then informed the new WM that the ceremony of installation was concluded and at this point Tony Harrison rose and congratulated Vic on attaining the chair for a second time, (Vic had been WM in 1985). Tony hoped that Vic would have a happy and healthy year in office and he also congratulated all who had been appointed and thanked the installing master for a delightful and sincere ceremony.
Vic rose and presented Tony with a cheque for £500 for WLMC which Tony received with pleasure, thanking all the brethren for their generous contribution.
After the first rising, Keith Kemp formed the recession and the grand officers and acting Provincial grand officers retired from the lodge that was then closed in due form and solemn prayer. The brethren and guests then retired to the dining room where they met for a quiet drink prior to sitting for their meal.
