The three principals of Grassendale Chapter No 4808 welcomed companions and guests to Woolton Golf Club to watch the chapter’s principals take on their new roles in a ceremony that showed that the bond of the companions had remained strong throughout the pandemic.
The chapter was opened by John Leisk and his co-principals Stephen Cornwell and Fred Hulse who dealt with the administrative work of the chapter.
The members and visitors were pleased to receive the principal guest Chris Reeman, accompanied by Vice Chairman of Woolton Group Mike Cunliffe and grand officer Peter Williams.
The three principals arose and extended a very warm welcome to Chris. The ceremony commenced under the direction of the chapter’s director of ceremonies Doug Lace. Stephen Cornwell was installed in the first principal’s chair; William Pinto was installed as second principal and Gary Devlin as third principal in a very dignified ceremony, after which they invested their officers for the coming year.
The scripture readings for the principals were given by Rob James. The robe addresses were performed to a high standard with John Leisk delivering that to the first principal, Stephen Cornwell that to the second principal and Fred Hulse that to the third. The address to the companions was in the hands of the principal guest Chris Reeman.
On completion of the ceremony Chris rose to convey the greetings of the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and Chris was presented with a cheque for £200 for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity.
The remaining business completed, the chapter was closed and the companions then retired downstairs to the newly refurbished lounge and dining room at Woolton Golf Club to complete a very enjoyable evening.
