On a bright spring day the efforts and commitment of many South Fylde companions was recognised at the meeting of Provincial Grand Chapter, held at the Southport Convention Centre.
With well over 600 companions in attendance, Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison opened the meeting in due form. After having welcomed all the distinguished guests from other Provinces and despatched the normal administrative business, the appointments and reappointments began.
The first reappointments involving South Fylde companions were those of Peter Elmore as Second Provincial Grand Principal and David Randerson as Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals. Both Peter and David are members of several chapters in the Province. These excellent companions were followed by Neil MacSymons of Semper Fideles Chapter No 4428 who was reappointed as Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies. Bob Avery of Quadrant Chapter No 8044 was appointed Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer.
It was a good day for Tithebarn Chapter No 8446 as four of their companions received appointments. Peter Weller was appointed to the acting rank of Provincial Grand Standard Bearer. Ramesh Gandhi and Tom Sloan were both appointed to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah and Len Wiseman was appointed Past Provincial Principal Grand Sojourner. Chapter of Fidelity No 1256 was also pleased and proud to have John Moss appointed to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah.
These companions were supported on the day by South Fylde Group Chairman Ian Ward, group vice chairman John Porter, first principal of Tithebarn Chapter Clive Gitsham and first principal of Chapter of Fidelity Antony Hill, along with several other companions.
In all, a happy day for all concerned and the majority of those present retired to a fine banquet.
