The members and guests of Chorley Lodge No 6287 were honoured to receive the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison into their lodge meeting to witness a third degree ceremony.
Tony was accompanied by the full Provincial team together with the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Phil Gunning, Assistant Provincial Grand Master Stewart Seddon, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies Keith Kemp, grand officers Ken Shaw, Leyland Group Chairman Chris Blackwell and Chorley Group Chairman Peter Lockett.
The lodge was opened by the acting master Don Hesketh who conducted the initial business of the lodge and then welcomed Tony Harrison and the Provincial team, plus a splendid gathering of special guests.
The next business of the evening was to raise Tom Richardson to the third degree. The ceremony had a great start with a perfect set of answers from Tom. The third degree ceremony continued as a tour de force with Don Hesketh and Stuart Catterall combining in a word perfect ceremony.
The ceremony ended with Tom being presented with his ritual book and the lodge by-laws by his father Phil who had been raised to the third degree earlier in the year.
Peter Lockett responded on behalf of the grand officers, congratulating all those who had taken part in a superb ceremony, saying that at the moment he felt very proud to be Chairman of the Chorley group. Peter also said that he appreciated the attendance of the full Provincial team.
The evening continued with a very happy and full festive board with good food, good wine and a very happy group of friend and guests.
