Park Hall Lodge No 8375 having been duly opened by the WM Anthony Prior, the group chairman Graham Chambers (who had stood in at the last minute to represent the Provincial Grand Master as Ian Gee had contacted COVID) was admitted along with the vice chairman Derek Midgley.

Before the proclamation could take place, the brethren came to order as a mark of respect of departed merit for John Glover who left us suddenly to ascend to the Grand Lodge above. The junior warden, group database editor and ex-group treasurer Martin Howell, rose to give a eulogy about John’s life.
t was a poignant evening for lodge treasurer John Allwright as he had initiated John Glover into Park Hall and subsequently John occupied the chair in 1986 and again in 2016.
The evening progressed smoothly however with Ian Kennedy occupying the senior deacon’s position whilst Howard Linaker tickled the ivories at the organ.
Park Hall also lost ex-group chairman, grand officer Roy Worthington, this year but gained a new member in October, Richard Jones, who has gone straight on to the steward’s list, a demonstration of the ‘chain’ if ever there was one.
Following Anthony Prior’s self-proclamation, the director of ceremonies Stuart Cunningham ended a busy evening for himself, proclaiming the WM. The group chairman rose to pass on the Provincial Grand Master’s congratulations and soon after the brethren retired to the restaurant for an excellent meal.
