The installation ceremony of Ormskirk Priory Chapter No 4007 was held at Ormskirk Masonic Hall with a good number of companions in attendance witnessing a very relaxed and most enjoyable ceremony.
Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Barry Jameson was on this occasion representing the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and the chapter principals welcomed him into the chapter. Barry was accompanied by Ormskirk and District Group Vice Chairman Stephen Brereton and Malcolm Alexander group secretary. Also in attendance were acting Provincial officers Bill Goulden PrAGSoj and Alan Jervis PrGStwd.
The three principals were installed in a very sincere and happy manner with excellent renditions of the ceremony by the officers of the chapter. The third principal William Hunter was installed by Sean Keyes; Sean then became the second principal and Nigel Hughes first principal, both being installed by John Wootton the outgoing first principal.
On this occasion the first principal’s robe address was deferred to a later meeting due to the unforeseen absence of Stephen McKenna, with Dean Scrutton and Paul Dooley presenting the second and third robe addresses respectively.
Once the principals had been installed into their respective chairs, Barry Jameson congratulated everyone on behalf of the Grand Superintendent, for having taken part in the ceremony. John Wootton in particular was congratulated for having had a successful year.
Nigel then presented Barry with two cheques; the first for £75 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and a second for £25 to The Friends of Tithebarn.
Following the meeting 31 companions retired to enjoy an excellent festive board provided and served by Gary O’Brien and his staff.
