The Ormskirk Ladies Group which meets at Ormskirk Masonic Hall held its Christmas Festive Dinner which saw the group chairman’s wife Ann Chambers enjoying her first Christmas dinner of the festive season, of which many will follow.

This was followed by a talk about Sierra Leone, subsequent to the ravages of war, famine and the pandemic, by Miriam Roxburgh who was actually born in Sierra Leone and worships at Emmanuel Church. She visited Kailahun town four years ago and spent three weeks there with a skills training centre set up by Lancashire Methodists and it was this that she came to talk about at Ormskirk Ladies.
Ormskirk Ladies Group under the stewardship of Brenda Hewitt meets regularly at Ormskirk Masonic Hall to enjoy a meal and listen to various speakers and if anyone wishes to join in, please contact Dianne Hampson via email at dianehampson90@hotmail.com.
At the next meeting in January 2023, there will be a presentation about Blood Bikes; in February Roger Blaxhall will hold a quiz about Lancashire and in March Jacki Masi is talking all about things sweet and chocolaty.
The group’s Annual General Meeting takes place in April and another date for the 2023 diary in June will be a visit to Edge Hill University, courtesy of our ex-group secretary John Mercer and Sheila Mercer, to which family and friends are more than welcome.
Brenda and Dianne are justifiably proud of the charitable contributions made by Ormskirk Ladies, a total of £1,300 being presented at their last Annual General Meeting.
The Ormskirk Group members appreciate them and wish them continued success in all their undertakings.
