Hamer Chapter No 1393 has held its annual installation ceremony in the Egyptian Suite at Liverpool Masonic Hall in Hope Street.
The chapter was opened by first principal Dave Lovell ably assisted by Arran Banks and Syd Ford as second and third principals. The chapter members were pleased to welcome David Potts who was the principal guest for the evening being the direct representative of Provincial Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison. David was accompanied by David Kemp representing the Liverpool Group and Phil Pattulo Provincial Grand Steward and all were given a warm welcome.
The installation ceremony commenced under the watchful eye of director of ceremonies Malcolm Warren with Arran Banks installed as first principal and Raymond Stones as third principal. Unfortunately Charlie Lucas, who was to be installed as second principal, was unable to be present so Dave Lovell stepped in for the evening. It was Dave Lovell who gave the red robe address while that for blue robe was given by Mike Southern.
On completion of the ceremony David Potts conveyed the congratulations and best wishes of the Provincial Grand Superintendent to the newly installed principals. Arran then had the pleasant duty of presenting two cheques on behalf of the companion’s, each in for the value of £100, to Liverpool Masonic Hall Building Fund and the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity.
The chapter was closed with due ceremony and all retired to the banqueting suite were after toasting the new principals all sat down to an excellent festive board. During which, David Potts conveyed his own congratulations and best wishes to the newly installed principals.
