Neil installed once again

Assistant Provincial Grand Master John Hutton was the principle guest at Border Lodge of Installed Masters No 9274 installation held at Swinton Masonic Hall. John was accompanied by Provincial grand officers Dave Walmsley the Eccles and District Group Chairman, Alan Wolstencroft and David McCormick. Also in attendance were group vice chairman Stuart Boyd and acting Provincial officer John Harrop.

Neil Pearson was installed by Peter Whalley who was standing in for the worshipful master who was away on holiday. Peter was ably assisted by his officers under the watchful eye of the director of ceremonies Alan Owen.

The third degree working tools were presented by Jim Shaw, the second degree working tools by Mel Lomax and the first degree working tools by Jim Shaw.

On conclusion of the ceremony, John congratulated Neil on being installed into the chair of King Solomon once again and also Peter and the officers who took part in an excellent ceremony. He extended the best wishes of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison to Neil and the lodge members for the coming year.

Neil presented John with a cheque made out to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity in the sum of £200 of which he duly accepted and thanked the lodge members for their generosity.

There was great banter at the festive board as always and all enjoyed a superb meal. At the festive board John gave his own congratulations to the WM and commented that he enjoyed visiting this lodge and was always made welcome. He expressed his thanks to group chairman Dave Walmsley and to the grand officers who were present for their support.

The master’s song was sung by Jim Carey accompanied by Colin Smith.
