The 2017 Bay Walk

  • The Provincial Grand Master, Tony Harrison, invites the brethren, their families, friends, children and even their dog to Walk the Bay in support of the West Lancashire MCF 2021 Festival We will be crossing Morecambe Bay on 17 Junewith Cedric Robinson MBE, the Queens Guide to the Sands, leaving Arnside at 10.45am and working our way across to Kent Bank railway station.

In preparation for our adventurous day out we will meet at the Monument, Arnside at 10:15 am prompt. Cedric will lead the eight mile walk across Morecambe Bay sands at 10.45am, through the River Kent estuary channel then across the salt marsh leading to Kent’s Bank.

The salt marsh does present about a dozen small muddy channels which have to be crossed so many walk in bare feet but old walking boots, trainers or crocs are recommended – be prepared to get wet!

We request all walkers raise a minimum sponsorship of £20.00 each and that non-walkers kindly sponsor a Member of their Lodge if possible.

Just £2 from each member in the Province would raise a considerable amount towards the Festival if the sponsor form was passed around at Festive Board, and any monies raised will accrue to the Patronage of your Lodge or Chapter.

Tea, coffee and cakes will be provided after the walk at the Abbots Hall Hotel along with washroom facilities, at a cost of £3 each, this includes washroom facilities, payment to made to John Wrennall in return for a voucher for this facility.
