Masonic break in Eastbourne

Once again seven members of Bootle Group and their wives, along with other groups from the Province have enjoyed a great break on a ‘Masonic’ holiday organised by David Ogden. On this occasion all of the party were from Bootle Pilgrim Lodge No 1473 whose members have supported the annual event for the last six years.  This year David organised the break at the Congress Hotel in Eastbourne which was conveniently situated for both the promenade and the town centre.

The five day break included visits to Battle, Hastings and Brighton. There was also an optional three mile sponsored walk along the promenade to the new marina where there were several choices for lunch, including Italian, Thai or traditional pub grub.

Every evening there were activities and entertainment, with the opportunity to raise more cash for the charities with bingo, raffles, heads and tails and other fun games.

The holiday raised several thousand pounds which was divided between the groups on a pro rata basis, with the Bootle Group receiving £666, which will be donated to several Masonic charities and to the Litherland Masonic Hall.

In February 2016 the holiday will be at the Marine Hotel on the south coast in Paignton, Devon.  Anyone interested, should get in touch with Pete Kelly as soon as possible as the available places will be taken up very quickly.
