Malcolm Bell is first principal of Standish Chapter

The members of Standish Chapter No 4955 were honoured by the presence of Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Tony Hall. Tony was accompanied by Chorley group chairman Peter Lockett, group treasurer Joe Hall and acting Provincial officers Rey Morris, Richard Frazer-Bastable and Derek Midgley.

Malcolm Bell was installed as first principal whilst Barrie Dutton was installed as second principal and Philip Kavanagh was installed as third principal. The installation team of Brian Roberts and Chris Furmston produced an excellent ceremony all under the watchful eye of director of ceremonies Ken Mayren and assistant director of ceremonies Philip Matthias.

The crimson robe address was presented by Alan Green; the purple robe was delivered by Malcolm Bell (senior) and the blue robe address was presented by Chris Furmston.

Tony Hall brought greetings and good wishes for a busy Masonic year and the best of good health to enjoy it from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison.

In response, Malcolm presented Tony with two cheques of £150 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival and £100 to the Chorley Masonic Hall Association. Tony thanked the chapter for their generous donations.

The festive board was a happy and gregarious dinner with good food, good wine and good company.
