In a most enjoyable and sincere ceremony, the brethren of Lodge of Allegiance No 7352 got the new year off to a wonderful start with the initiation of Stephen Matthew Frame.
Stephen is a young man in his mid-20’s and has joined a number of similar aged brethren in this progressive, forward-thinking lodge.
Opening the meeting, WM Paul Baines expressed his hope that everyone had enjoyed the festive season and like himself, were glad to be back together at Garston and more importantly, to be able to start the year on such a positive note.
Unfortunately, as Paul is not enjoying the best of health he felt it best to ask for the assistance of Ken Dobie to conduct the ceremony. As anybody who knows Ken, they would expect his work was excellent but perhaps most gratifying was the work of Andrew Begg, Richard Hughes and John Chester, three younger members of the lodge, who performed their duties with great credit.
The lodge DC, Danny Wilson, managed the evening in his usual quiet and calm manner and the ceremony ran smoothly throughout. Danny is also the Garston Group Mentor, so along with lodge mentor Stewart Dobbie, Stephen will certainly not want for help, support or guidance.
At the conclusion of the official business of the evening, an enjoyable and cordial festive board was had by all. One of the after-dinner highlights was a rousing rendition of the apprentice’s song which, no doubt, will have left a lasting memory of Stephen’s first experience of our social brotherhood.
Lodge of Allegiance continues to advance and improve, combining the enthusiasm of youth and the wisdom of experience in happy harmony.
