During the summer recess a small working party have been working tirelessly to enhance the drab looking lodge room, which was badly in need of repair, to bring it back to its former glory in readiness for the coming Masonic season which includes two visits from the PrGM Tony Harrison and the Provincial Team early in the autumn.

Mike Brindle, a member of the management team, explained that what was originally going to be a lick of paint warranted a full overhaul of plastering, paintwork and furnishings, concentrating on attention to detail enhanced by remote controlled diffused lighting.

Mike and members of his dedicated team, which included the management team family members, friends and other brethren who had given up their free time during the hot summer weeks to ensure that the work was completed on time.

The event was attended by APrGM Dave Walmsley and Eccles Group Chairman Stuart Boyd who were very impressed with the finished project. Stuart congratulated the team and thanked them for their hard work and dedication on behalf of the lodges and chapters who meet at Elm Bank.

The evening continued with a hot buffet and coffee. The new bar staff, manager Marie, deputy manager Kim and barman Christian were introduced by Paul Webster. Paul gave an update of events including four weddings which have been booked as well as social evenings. Paul Heathcote gave an update on the financial situation.

The evening concluded with a presentation of the new booking system.
