The installation meeting of Park Hall Lodge No 8375, at Ormskirk Masonic Hall was a special occasion as the brethren witnessed Kieron Lowe being installed as their new WM. The brethren were proud to give a very warm welcome to their principal guest for the evening, Roy Pyne who was the representative of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison. Roy was accompanied by the Ormskirk and Bootle Group Chairman Graham Chambers and the Ormskirk and Bootle Group Vice Chairman Malcolm Alexander.
The outgoing and installing WM Anthony Prior started the evening’s proceedings by warmly welcoming the visiting brethren to the meeting before opening the lodge and after the initial lodge business was completed, the lodge’s DC Andrew Killeen announced that Roy Pyne was without and sought admission. Roy was then admitted into the temple accompanied by Graham Chambers and Malcolm Alexander.
Anthony then asked Harry Thacker to occupy the senior warden’s chair and Martin Howell to remain in the junior warden’s chair. The master elect, Kieron Lowe was then presented to the lodge by the presenting officer Andrew Killeen and after Kieron had taken his obligation, the outgoing WM Anthony thanked the brethren for all their support and hard work they had given him during his year in office.
The installing master, Anthony, proceeded to install Kieron, according to ancient custom into the chair of King Solomon. The working tools for an installed master were presented by David Williams of Lodge of Harmony No 580, the third degree tools by Alistair Frew, the second degree tools by Anthony Prior and the first degree tools by Shaun Nicholls, all in an excellent and proficient manner.
The handover address for senior warden was given by Harry Thacker, the address to WM was given by Andrew Killeen, the address to the wardens was given by Stuart Cunningham and the address to the brethren was given by Roy Pyne, all the addresses were delivered in a confident and excellent manner.
At the end the ceremony of installation, Roy addressed the brethren by bringing congratulations from the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison, wishing Kieron and all the brethren the very best of health and hoping they have a happy Masonic year. Roy congratulated Anthony for the manner in which he had installed Kieron into the chair, the lodge’s DC Andrew Killeen and all the brethren who had taken part in the ceremony.
The ceremony now being completed, Kieron presented Roy with four cheques, £300 for the West Lancashire 2021 Festival, £150 to Alder Hey Baby Unit, £150 to the Ormskirk Masonic Hall Association and £100 to the Friends of Tithebarn and on behalf of the recipients Roy thanked the lodge for their very generous and worthy donations.
After closing the lodge in prayer and harmony the brethren made their way to an excellent festive board which the brethren enjoyed an three course meal consisting of mushroom soup for the starter, followed by roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and seasonal vegetables for the main course and Bakewell tart and custard for dessert which was enjoyed by all. During the festive board a raffle was held which raised £174 which will be donated to Masonic charities at a later date.
