The companions of Hesketh Chapter and their visitors were treated to an excellent ceremony of installation which saw Graham Fish, Glenn Hornby and Andrew Sumner installed to office as first, second and third principals respectively.

Paul Renton Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals brought warm and cordial greetings from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and stated that he had seen a marvellous and wonderful ceremony of installation. He congratulated the principals on taking up their respective offices and he likewise congratulated all of the companions in undertaking their new offices too. On behalf of Tony, he wished everyone a successful and fulfilling year.

Graham presented two cheques to Paul who, following permission, read the sums being presented. The first cheque was written out to West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity for the sum of £150; the charity of the Freemasons of the Masonic Province of West Lancashire. It was formed in April 2008 by the amalgamation of the seven Masonic charities operating in this Province, an area which includes parts of Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Cumbria. Its funds are raised entirely from donations by Freemasons. The second cheque was also for £150 and this was for Wellington Park Load Reduction Fund. Paul commended the chapter saying that the cheques would be applied to the beneficiaries as soon as possible and he thanked everyone for their generosity.

The three robe addresses were given by companions Alistair Milner, Martin Swarbrick and David Gill to the first, second and third principals respectively.

Following on at the festive board Paul gave his own congratulations to the principals and officers of the chapter and bid all concerned a very happy and healthy year in office. He also thanked the chapter for his invitation and said that he had had a wonderful time.
