Garston Masonic Hall was the venue for the meeting with the local Independent Councillor Sam Gorst to receive a donation of a cheque for £100 from the Hall Chairman Mal Yates and a cash donation from Roy Heaney of a £100. Mal had been collecting generous donations from the lodges and chapters based a Garston for distributing for families who require support.
Sam was worried about the increase number of emails he was getting due to rising costs of energy bills and the idea he had was to relieve some of the pressures on those who are struggling. Sam would like to say a huge thank you to Mal and the team at Garston Masonic Hall for their continued generosity every year, they truly do go above and beyond to lift people in worrying times.
Following the meeting, Sam was joined by his colleague Karen Whelan, and they purchased several toys to be distributed to local families during the Christmas period.
