It’s a busy time of the year within the Ormskirk and Bootle Group with many festive celebrations being held and with FROTH’s (friends of the hall) annual Christmas lunch being one of the major events being held at the Litherland Masonic Hall.

With this year’s Christmas lunch being the first since lockdown, it was nice to see it being very well supported with many members from the group and visitors, with the Ormskirk and Bootle Group Chairman Graham Chambers and his wife Anne, along with Group Vice Chairman Derek Midgely in attendance.
An excellent meal was served with soup as the starter, roast turkey and pork, accompanied by seasonal vegetables and all the trimmings as the main, Christmas pudding and brandy sauce for dessert and the meal was finished off with warm mince pies to accompany the tea or coffee.
After the meal the entertainment for the afternoon, a band called The Travelling Wannabes, started their first set which comprised of many popular songs.
During a short break in the entertainment, a bingo session and a raffle were held, which had a vast selection of prizes. Once these were completed, Stephen Oliver, the FROTH Chairman, thanked everyone for coming to the meal and for all their support on the day, before handing back to the band for their second set. They continued by singing several popular well known songs with many in the audience singing and dancing along with them.
Everyone left after having had a really enjoyable time. They all departed in high spirits after having a wonderful afternoon, with friendly company and some excellent entertainment. The FROTH Christmas lunch raised £205.50 which will be used for future projects that will improve the Litherland Masonic Hall.
