Freemasonry donates to Genesis Care

Peter Horgan of Chorley Lodge No 6287 was at a Masonic dinner casually chatting to Ian Scott when Ian explained that he was getting involved with an organisation called Genesis Care. It is a small non-profit-making organisation based in Chorley, providing a well-being and respite care service for older people. It has a dedicated and skilled team that has vast experience of working with people with disabilities, including dementia and strokes.

Peter immediately considered it a good cause and soon managed to raise £500 from the lodge charity account.

Ian and Peter visited Genesis Care and spoke with Lorna Bowling and Pat Albrow. Lorna said that Genesis Care provides activities and refreshments throughout the day; activities such as chair based Tai Chi, painting, indoor gardening, and snooker. These activities together with a good lunch make a full day. Lorna went on to thank Ian and Peter for the generous donation.
