Johnny Roberts and Chris Marshall became the youngest Royal Arch Masons in the Southport Group having been exalted into West Lancashire Chapter No 1403.
Johnny is an auto technician at Bury Road Garage having been there for over five years and Chris owns and runs his own heating and plumbing business, Marshall Heating, which covers Southport and the surrounding areas.
The chapter was opened in the usual manner by the three principals; John Shevill first principal, Mike Fearnley second principal and Chris Offord third principal. Once the initial business of the chapter had been conducted John asked Darren Bowden to retire and entrust the candidates. Upon Darren re-entering the chapter with the candidates the ceremony proceeded with Darren completing the first section, Keith Wilson presenting the second section and Al Horn completing the third section of the ritual.
The newly made companions then took a seat in the west and listened to Peter Lower, who gave the mystical lecture. The ceremony of exaltation then being completed the three principals congratulated Johnny and Chris, welcoming them formally into the chapter and hoping that they would have many happy years of companionship in the chapter.
After the remaining business of the evening was completed, the chapter was closed and the companions retired to the festive board for a very enjoyable meal and much light hearted banter.
