Ormskirk Priory Chapter No 4007 held its installation ceremony at Ormskirk Masonic Hall with a good number of visitors and chapter members in attendance; who all witnessed a very relaxed and enjoyable ceremony.
Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals David Randerson was on this occasion representing the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison with the first principal Sean Keyes giving David a very warm welcome on what was his first visit to Ormskirk.
David was accompanied by Frank Umbers Ormskirk and Bootle Group Chairman, Stephen Brereton vice chairman and Malcolm Alexander group secretary and member of the chapter. Also in attendance was acting Provincial grand officer Derick Midgley PrGStwd.
The ceremony of installation undertaken by Sean assisted by past first principals of the chapter saw William Hunter, Paul Dooley and Chris Cullen installed to office as first, second and third principals respectively.
All the scripture readings were delivered in a proficient and confident manner by chapter reader Terry Lee. The crimson robe address was presented by Richie Craig, the purple robe address by Dean Scrutton and the blue robe address by Frank Cullen.
Once the principals had been installed into their respective chairs, and the officers installed for the forthcoming year David congratulated everyone on behalf of the Grand Superintendent, for having taken part in the ceremony. Sean Keyes in particular, was congratulated for having had a successful year and David also thanked DC Andrew Clarke for the way he had overseen the ceremony.
William then presented David with three cheques; the first for £50 to the MCF 2021 Festival, £50 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and £50 to The Friends of Tithebarn, following which David thanked the companions for their generosity on behalf of the recipients.
Following the meeting the visitors and companions retired to enjoy an excellent festive board provided and served by Gary O’Brien and his staff which concluded a most enjoyable evening.
